Gladstone High School’s cheer team is gearing up for another awesome season by logging incredible performances at the Oregon Cheerleading Coaches Association’s All-State Competition on Oct. 19.
Gladstone Cheer Head Coach Shelby Crystal said the school is “so incredibly proud” of every single one of our kids who competed.
“It was a great day to be a Gladiator,” Crystal said. “Every single kid that competed left it all on the mat and was so proud of their performance.”
Blake McKinnis got first place on the Male/Mixed Gender All-State team. Mak Swift, Kenzie Hartman, Bella Hyne and Ceana Cummings all made the 4A All-State team.
One of our stunt groups took home second place in the 4A all-girl stunt category (Abi Koch, Bianca Clair, Kenzie Hartman, Mads Bywater and Myah Barnhart). Our coed stunt group took home the fifth place medal in coed stunt at all-state, where GHS cheerleaders Blake McKinnis, Haven Flett, Lalea Dominguez, Bailey Oelke and Kayla Pickles competed against all (1-6A) coed groups. We were the only small school (1-4A) to medal in that division.
Gladstone’s cheer team has won the national cheerleading championship for three years in a row and is looking for a fourth championship later this year.
