A School Resource Officer is provided by the Gladstone Police Department is a presence in our four schools. The officer’s role is:
• to help students build a positive relationship with the police
• to deter violent acts
• to protect students as needed.

You may find our SRO helping out in and around our schools. Whether serving breakfast, reading to kindergarten students, presenting on career day, or helping with school events, the SRO is a frequent and positive presence in our schools

Gladstone Schools maintains a close partnership and ongoing communications with the Gladstone Police Department, which has done training drills in our school buildings to prepare for rapid response to threats. The Gladstone Police are also an active part of the district’s Threat Assessment Team.
