Gladstone is hosting a wide array of events to celebrate our graduating seniors.
Senior celebration season kicked off with a BBQ Lunch on May 30 at Gladstone High School. Staff and students from all class years honored seniors together with cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, baked beans, potato salad, chips, Caesar salad, watermelon and strawberry shortcake.
Parent volunteers helped get graduating students signed up for more events in their honor throughout the rest of the school year.
Seniors were then invited to celebrate their post-high-school plans during Decision Day. The June 4 event also served as a final class meeting to review graduation events. Students gathered in the GHS cafeteria for graduation information, snacks and prizes.
Kindergarteners and teachers applauded as Gladstone High School seniors marched through the Gladstone Center for Children & Families on June 6. The seniors continued their Honor Walk after a bus took them to Kraxberger Middle School. Then they marched through John Wetten Elementary with Pomp and Circumstance playing over the loudspeakers to celebrate their graduation achievements.
On June 10, we held our Senior Assembly to honor graduating students in front of all students and staff at the school. Graduates were given academic awards, presented with scholarships and recognized for their contributions to community service. After the assembly, seniors participated in the annual Memorial Walk to place their ID cards into the John Dierickx memorial so they can be part of the tradition of pride, spirit, hard work and loyalty.

If you are a graduating senior in need of more tickets for family members, talk with Ms. Baker during the graduation rehearsal. If you are a member of the public in need of tickets, you will need to talk with Ms. Baker or Ms. Bell at the GHS front office, 18800 Portland Ave., Gladstone. The graduation event itself will be held across the street at Dick Baker Stadium.
