Tammy Tracy, Gladstone Education Foundation's longtime executive director, tendered her resignation to the GEF Board effective the end of June 2024. The GEF was pleased to announce that Shelby Crystal has been hired as the new executive director.
In pursuit of long-overdue time with family and friends, Tammy informed the Board of her intentions several months ago to allow for a thoughtful transition.
Gladstone Education Foundation President Terry Marsh said, “We can’t even begin to express how thankful the GEF Board is for Tammy’s time of service. She has been an engine for the GEF that has not quit: smart, organized, thoughtful, connected and faithful with no bounds. There are no words to express the full magnitude of impact she has had on the GEF and youth of the Gladstone community. We are forever grateful for her many years of service and can’t begin to express our full measure of appreciation for all her efforts.”
Shelby represents an exciting hire for the GEF. Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology, as well as master's degrees in social work and education.
Shelby is currently a teacher at Gladstone High School. Of particular note, Shelby is the head cheerleading coach at GHS where she has led teams into both perennial state and national championships. She has propelled the cheerleading organization from inception to success by focusing on recruitment, fundraising and community engagement, attributes that will clearly benefit the GEF. Shelby was drawn to apply for the GEF executive director’s position as a greater opportunity to impact growth, innovation and enhanced opportunities for students. Her background, passion and skills will undoubtedly benefit the GEF going forward.
