John Wetten Elementary first graders loved their recent science trip to Clackamas Community College. During the June 3 field trip, Gladstone students made observations in nature and did hands-on activities to learn about the wetlands at CCC’s John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center.
The center is located at the headwaters of Newell Creek, which flows through a 1,800-acre watershed, the largest intact green space in the south metro area. Water flowing through the center provides critical wetland habitat for wildlife such as birds and frogs.
